Training can be delivered on site using the client’s training room or at a convenient, suitable location.

Who should attend Confined Space Training

This course is suitable for operatives, supervisors and management who may require an understanding of the principles of working safely in confined spaces and awareness of the legislation applying to confined spaces working.

Confined Space Training Online Aims

The aim of this course is to provide the necessary training to be able identify the safe working practices for confined space work, understand the hazards involved and necessary requirements for implementing rescue plans and safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this training, delegates will be able to:
Outline examples of confined spaces: e.g. tanks, vaults, manholes, tunnels, pipelines, storage bins and many more.
Describe risks, hazards, controls, and PPE inherent in confined spaces.
Explain risk classifications and how they are differentiated.
Describe why personal hygiene is a significant concern, and the actions individuals need to take.
List health and safety responsibilities of individuals, managers and employers.
Explain why reporting accidents, ill health and other incidents is important.

The scope of this standard covers:
examples of confined spaces: tanks, vaults, manholes, tunnels, pipelines, storage bins and many more
risks, hazards, controls, and PPE inherent in confined spaces
risk classifications
the importance of personal hygiene
health and safety responsibilities of individuals, managers and employer
the importance of reporting accidents, ill health and other incidents.
Please Note: This training does not train or certify a person to enter a confined space.

Grant: Tier 1 = £60 per person

We are recognised by CITB as well as the British Construction Industry as a training provider who can deliver good quality training that meets the industry approved standards. We are part of the CITB’s automated grant payments system, making it easier for employers to book courses with us for their workers and be reimbursed for it.

Please note: There is a cap on how many times an employer can claim a Short duration course achievement grant. The link directs you to the CITB website for information on the amount of claims allowed based on your last levy return.

If a candidate has been paid grant for a particular course in a lifetime, they will not be eligible for grant again for the same course, unless it has specific refresher standards published on the short duration course register.

If refresher course standards do exist for a particular course, then only one refresher is grant eligible in a lifetime for each candidate.
