COSHH Assessment Training

This course can be adapted to suit the client’s requirements and be delivered as an online course presented by one of our health and safety professionals. Training can be delivered on site using the client’s training room or at a convenient, suitable location.

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at anyone who may be required to carry out COSHH assessments, and crucially putting the assessment into practice to control substances hazardous to health.

Many people tasked with COSHH assessments are unsure what is required or where to get information. Once the initial assessment is complete, they are often uncertain on how to approach control, and how to judge when control is adequate. This course aims to give that knowledge and those skills.

Delivery

The COSHH Assessments in Construction is a classroom or remote course with demonstrations and tutorials. It also includes a theory exercise in the inspection and selection of equipment.

Maximum Numbers: 15 Face to Face (12 Remote)
Duration: 3 – 4 Hours

Aims of COSHH Risk Assessment

The aim of this course is to provide the necessary training to be able to identify environmental issues within the workplace and put in place procedures to reduce the impact on the environment.

COSHH regulations and what they mean in practice

Adequate control, understanding limits, the principles of good control practice

Skin and ingestion exposure

Workforce Skills Support has CITB Approved status delivering CITB Assured Courses as listed in the Construction Training Directory. We are recognised by CITB as well as the British Construction Industry as a training provider who can deliver good quality training that meets the industry approved standards. We are part of the CITB’s automated grant payments system, making it easier for employers to book courses with us for their workers and be reimbursed for it.

Please note: There is a cap on how many times an employer can claim a Short duration course achievement grant. The link directs you to the CITB website for information on the amount of claims allowed based on your last levy return.

If a candidate has been paid grant for a particular course in a lifetime, they will not be eligible for grant again for the same course, unless it has specific refresher standards published on the short duration course register.

If refresher course standards do exist for a particular course, then only one refresher is grant eligible in a lifetime for each candidate.
