About This Course

The purpose of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) training is to provide candidates with an understanding of the law regarding the use of respiratory protective equipment (RPE) as a chosen control regime; the types of RPE available; the knowledge to select appropriate RPE for particular construction hazards and suitability for the wearer; how to use and maintain the RPE, in order to prevent or adequately control the effects of respiratory hazards on a construction site. This does not cover fit-test competence.

This course can be adapted to suit the client’s requirements, training can be delivered on site using the client’s training room or at a convenient, suitable location.

Who should attend

This course is designed for people who may be required to select, use or maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) as part of work place activities or who needs familiarisation or refresher skills with the relevant regulations and practical application of skills in the use of PPE/RPE.

Delivery

This is a mixture of a classroom-based course, demonstrations and practical use and maintenance of PPE systems common within your industry.

Delegates should bring their own PPE and Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) to the training course they are expected to wear in the workplace including: Hard Hats, Gloves, Safety Glasses, Goggles, Hi Vis vests, RPE, Ear Protection Etc.

Duration : 3 – 4 Hours

Course Aims

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge of the hazards and risks associated with workplace activities and provide delegates with a good understanding of selecting appropriate PPE/RPE for work activities taking place, how to wear PPE correctly ensuring it is compatible and maintained.

On completion of this training, delegates will be able to:
